Ingredients:
- 1 pound (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
- 3-4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions:
- In a large skillet or frying pan, heat 2 tablespoons of butter and the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) to the pan and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and are cooked through. The cooking time may vary depending on the size of the shrimp.
- Once the shrimp are cooked, remove them from the pan and set them aside.
- In the same pan, melt the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and add the lemon juice. Stir well to combine.
- Return the cooked shrimp to the pan with the garlic butter sauce, tossing the shrimp to coat them evenly.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove the pan from the heat and garnish the garlic butter shrimp with chopped parsley.
- Serve the shrimp immediately with lemon wedges on the side for extra tang if desired.
