Buffalo wings are a classic and delicious appetizer. Here’s a recipe for homemade buffalo wings:
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds (900g) chicken wings, split into drumettes and flats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot or your preferred brand)
- Optional: Blue cheese dressing, celery sticks, and carrot sticks for serving
Instructions:
Baking:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and lightly grease it.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well.
- Add the chicken wings to the flour mixture and toss to coat them evenly.
- Arrange the coated wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the wings in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until they are crispy and golden brown, flipping them halfway through the cooking time for even browning.
- While the wings are baking, prepare the buffalo sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the melted butter and hot sauce. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter is melted and the sauce is well combined. Remove from heat.
Serving:
- Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce over the wings and toss them gently to coat them with the sauce.
- Return the sauced wings to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5 minutes to set the sauce.
- Remove the wings from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Serve the buffalo wings hot with blue cheese dressing, celery sticks, and carrot sticks on the side.
- Enjoy your homemade buffalo wings!
